You can dress them up…
While visiting my parents for Christmas, my parents took the oldest 3 to a candlelight Christmas Eve service at their church. The kids had a great time, especially since they got to hold a real blazing candle! :)
My Mom was sitting with the choir so the kids sat with my Dad during the service. Afterwards my Mom was asking the kids if they liked it. They all said yes, they liked it and they liked singing and the candles. Abigail said, “Yes, I liked it. But their cookies weren’t very good.” Mom was wondering what she was talking about since there weren’t any snacks. Then Josiah (always concerned with things being correct) said, “it wasn’t cookies–it was bread and wine.” Then Alatheia (always concerned with doing the right thing) said, “we’re not supposed to eat bread.” (We’re on a grain-free diet right now).
My Dad had taken the kids down for communion, which at this church involved thin little wafers dipped in real wine LOL. Definitely a let down if you were thinking it was a cookie! :)
